UI / UX DESIGNER
3 SENTENCE STORY | When I was 15, my drawing teacher told me that I had an eye for composition but no sense of proportion. The second part of his feedback threw me for a loop, but motivated me to go to life drawing classes every day that summer at the Art Students League. While I was the youngest student in the class, I learned how much I can accomplish by stepping out of my comfort zone and staying focused.

RESEARCH ASSOCIATE
3 SENTENCE STORY | As a child, I had a knack for telling stories that were suspiciously more exciting than their real-life counterparts. As a teenager, I channeled this penchant for exaggeration into a few too many angsty poems about my feelings. As an adult, I like to think I’ve found my sweet spot: by day, encouraging young people to tell their stories compellingly; by night, spinning strange tales of magic, intrigue, and all-too-real human relationships.
EDUCATION | B.A. English: Creative Writing, summa cum laude, SUNY New Paltz

3 SENTENCE STORY | I was raised in the skirt of poetry, taking naps in my grandmother’s lap while she recited her latest poem in Farsi. When I was 7 years old, she bought me my first notebook, and somewhere between Dr. Seuss, Shel Silverstein, Rumi, Maya Angelou, Sylvia Plath and high school English class, I realized that writing was my calling. Since then, I have combined my passions of writing with activism as a means to challenge social inequities.
