Story2 Partners with Kaplan Test Prep

August 1 marks the unofficial kickoff of the 2019-2020 college admissions cycle with the launch of the Common App. We are so excited to help this year's class of high school seniors get into their top-choice colleges with authentic essays, and give them access to 100s of hours of college coaching expertise with our new one-stop-shop for everything related to the Common App.

August 1 also brings Story2 back to our roots with the launch of a new partnership with Kaplan Test Prep to teach students in the Kaplan family how to write effective college essays by themselves in their own authentic voice.

Kaplan played a key role in our evolution when we were selected for the Kaplan EdTech Accelerator, powered by Techstars in 2014. It’s part of our heritage! Kaplan’s knowledge and expertise accelerated our progress, helping us to build and release the first version of StoryBuilder, the Story2 online storytelling coach.

Now, five years later, we are excited to offer Kaplan Test Prep students a meaningful solution to one of the biggest areas of anxiety in the college application process.

Story2 is providing custom instructional content to Kaplan Test Prep in support of the partnership, including:

  • Free and discounted live interactive online events that teach storytelling skills for college essays and interviews
  • Study support articles that explain college essays
  • Additional content on college list strategies, early action / early decision, interviews, and scholarships, and
  • Live programming for social media

Kaplan Test Prep users have access to additional Story2 services such as written feedback on essays and one-on-one coaching as well.

By learning to tell their own stories in their own voice, students develop skills that help them with essays, interviews, and major life transitions such as entering the workplace.

We are thrilled to extend these powerful tools to such a wide audience of aspiring college-goers.
