by Story2, on Jun 3, 2019 9:38:19 AM

NEW YORK, June 3, 2019 — Innovative educational technology and storytelling coaching services company Story2 today announced it has appointed Christopher G. Fox, PhD as Chief Marketing and Communications Officer (CMCO), effectively immediately.

The CMCO role is a new fractional role created by Story2. Story2 is evolving to a broader focus on life-long learning from its prior focus on students' transitions between high school and college. The company is developing new products and services to assist transitions into and throughout professional career stages, across a wide range of critical business world interactions. It is extending its proprietary instructional method (The Moments Method®) to these new scenarios by fusing online, classroom, and coaching-based instruction.

Story2's new product lines, including the recently launched "HirePower," will help customers learn authentic, vital storytelling skills to help advocate for themselves at critical moments including admission to professional schools, job interviews, funding pitches, and other high-stakes business interactions.

Fox will be responsible for building Story2's new brand around these extended service lines as well as expanding its existing brand strength in education. He will take end-to-end accountability for marketing strategy and outcomes across all Story2 product lines. He will lead campaign planning and execution, develop a holistic marketing analytics program, and manage day to day operations of the marketing team. He will also drive the company's outbound communications efforts with influencers and media.

Fox will report to Story2 Chief Executive Officer and Founder Carol Barash, PhD.

"Chris's nimble and consultative approach to marketing and communications will provide exactly the focus that Story2 needs to move on to this next chapter of its own story," said Barash. "We made the choice to bring in a fractional CMCO so that we could grow the business faster, benefiting from his diverse experience in financial services and fintech, healthcare and health IT, and other areas where the boundaries between the offline and online world are rapidly dissolving."

Added Fox, "I am delighted to play this critical role in helping Story2 enter new markets. It's rare to find a role that so tightly connects the multiple elements of my career experience with my values and beliefs in the deep power of communication."

In addition to this new role, Fox will remain managing partner of Syncresis®, a consultancy that helps companies and individuals position themselves via thought leadership and communication strategy.

Fox is also the founder of Kindness Communication®, a venture dedicated to the idea that kindness creates better results and greater focus in companies and organizations.

Fox previously worked at other consultancies and agencies, and held administrative and faculty positions in academia earlier in his career. He also sits on the Advisory Board of The New 3Rs, an organization committed to creating leaders who are open to the culture of others and who will advocate for others in the workplace, community, school, and the world.

Fox holds a PhD from The Johns Hopkins University and a BA summa cum laude from Amherst College.
